Here’s my latest painting. A 20″x 24″ Oil on canvas painting of my daughter exploring the sand dunes in Ocean Beach, San Diego. I completed this over the Summer of 2015 right after I discovered my grandmother has liver cancer. I tried to put all my emotions over the news into the sky, while thinking about the carefree qualities of youth and good health.
I’m honored to have my paintings in the main hall of Biz Center Art…
I’ve been asked to be a part of a group show at a new gallery space, Biz Art Center in La Mesa on El Cajon Blvd. There’s a ton of wall space and it looks like I’ll be in good company with many talented artists of different medium. I’ll be showing a collection of 5 paintings. The Artist reception will have snacks and wine from what I’m told. I hope to see you there!
I’m happy to say I’ve been asked to return for another show at Cosmos Coffee Cafe in the La Mesa Village! The artwork is currently on display and will be exhibited through November 2012. There’s some new illustrations and a hanful of new paintings along with some older favorites. The theme is “childhood wonder”. Stop by and enjoy some art and some fine coffee. Let me know what you think!

I have submitted 5 paintings to SDAI’s Summer C-note art sale. The Opening Night is June 4th from 5-8pm. It’s quite an event! People come early and scramble to grab paintings right off the gallery wall for purchase. The paintings are all priced at $100, $200 or $300 dollars. It’s a great way to collect some of the finest San Diego artist’s work.
I was contacted through http://www.bendystar.etsy.com to do a commission as a Christmas present. It was a great experience working with this client and together we found the right image to work from. I altered the background of the photograph she provided from the airport to a more natural setting. Here are some of the things she said about the painting, “The painting is absolutely perfect…Because of your wonderful and special talent, we have a family keepsake that will be cherished forever. You have captured Mike and Kyla perfectly! Thank you again…You have been awesome to work with.” -Kathy
I have finally listed my latest paintings on Etsy. I did two lotus paintings, one white and one reddish pink. I love them, they make my living room feel so calm and serene. Here is the link http://www.etsy.com/shop/bendystar
