Upcoming show at OBR Gallery

I’m thrilled to return to show my work at OBR Gallery for Ray at Night Art Walk. This show will be a collection of all new artwork from this past year. Please join me on opening night:

September 9th, 2017

6pm-10pm at OBR.

I’ve been exploring a new direction lately, using mixed media and acrylic paints. You’ll want to check these out in person. Here’s a small sampling of what will be exhibited. I hope to see you there!

Succulents on Burlap

Struggle in a painting

Last night I went to my Art class for the first time since burying my father. I can see that my world will be divided into before my Dad died and after. I struggled in class for the first time in a long time. I questioned why I was taking an abstract class when I'm a realistic painter naturally. Is there some method in my madness of trying to force growth through discomfort? Or am I just putting myself in another place where I don't fit in? Anyway, the resulting painting was full or harsh shapes, lines, and color. A painting of discomfort and struggle. I might paint over it, but I'm posting it here first. Here's my painting baby.

Ashton Gallery Rainbow Show

I’m pleased that “Bikini Body” was selected to be in the Ashton Gallery Rainbow Exhibit. You can see my painting in the upstairs gallery by the beautiful Artist Studios. Come by and check out this artwork along with the other artists showing. It’s a gorgeous show.

In the upstairs gallery space

Ashton Gallery

I’m pleased to be showing two paintings at the current exhibit, Summer in the City, at Ashton Gallery in San Diego’s neighborhood of North Park.

This space is a beautiful gallery space but also has working Artist studios and holds classes through Art on 30th.

I’m currently taking an Abstract Acrylic class just to try something completely different. It’s fun to branch out and grow while trying new.

This show will be up through June 2017. Go check it out! http://www.ashtonartgallery.com/
